The Future of Moving To Heal – Going Beyond Labels

I just returned from a personal retreat in Kingston to be alone and focus on my practice, business, and vision for the future. I debated on attending various education trainings whether related to Nia or my health coaching practice this year. But then I realized, I have the information I need. It’s about having time to be alone and sit with who I am, what is my practice, and how do I move forward.

Who Am I?

What became clear is that I’m not just an RN, Nia Teacher, health coach, advocate or health navigator. Yes, I am a healer, but it’s not about me healing others. It’s about educating, guiding and providing the tools for others to heal themselves. And then this came forth…”I am a body-centered health practitioner and guide who helps others tap into the wisdom of their body to heal and transform their health and life.”

Who Do I Serve? Going Beyond Labels

In the business world people talk about “niching” your practice in order to create a target message to that group. When I first started it was cancer, then chronic illness and then recently anxiety and depression. But when it comes down to it, they are all labels. I find myself resisting the labels. The labels we place in healthcare and medicine is a way to categorize a group of signs and symptoms. I want to go beyond disease to see the person as a whole whose body has sent various messages that something is wrong.

Addressing the Root Causes of Chronic Illness

In this day and age of healthcare, the thing that is being overlooked and not addressed is how viruses, pathogens, and toxins are really impacting people’s health. Treatment is geared towards the symptom or the diagnosis rather than the root cause. People are told that their body is attacking itself. Does that really make sense to you? Why would our bodies be attacking itself? Is it actually fighting a virus that is feeding off of the toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis or before we were even born? Has a particular traumatic or stressful event caused a virus hiding in the body to emerge and manifest in various symptoms and diseases? If we really want to address the underlying root cause of people’s anxiety, depression, autoimmune disease, hypothyroidism, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and more, we need to think beyond what we can see or test for at this time.

How do I serve?

When we are empowered by the truth and have clarity of what is causing our symptoms, that is when true healing can occur no matter how painful the process can be at times. Knowledge is power and with the right information and tools we can address the pain and suffering that millions are experiencing in this time on earth. As I hear healing stories of people following the work of Anthony William, I am inspired to see the truth and educate others on how they can reclaim their health and live a more vibrant and fulfilled life. Through movement, lifestyle changes, nutrition, supplements, meditation and more you can access the inner healer within.
