I am a certified Nia Black Belt instructor. My Nia classes and private sessions are open to any age or fitness level and can be used to support individuals dealing with a variety of health issues including anxiety, depression, fatigue, and injuries. • Moving to Heal Nia Class
The Moving to Heal Nia program* teaches people to listen to the voice of the body – sensation. Sensation is a tool for self-healing. Sessions begin with a body awareness walk (or seated as needed) and ends with body gratitude. I guide you through a mindful movement experience using Nia’s 7 class cycles beginning with a focus and intent, warm up, aerobic movement and consciously stepping out.
Each session culminates in a “Dancing Through Life” tip – to bring the self-healing focus into the individuals’ daily lives. Moving to Heal Nia experience is defined simply by “I feel better.” Students learn how to personalize movement to adapt to their health needs. *Moving to Heal Nia classes were created through Nia Headquarters. Coincidentally my business name Moving To Heal, LLC was created separate from this program.

• 5 Stages of Healing Class
In a Nia 5 Stages of Healing private class, you’ll explore the profound healing power of 5 simple moves that will naturally help you regain strength, flexibility, mobility, agility and stability. This is an integrative practice based on the 5 stages of human development: embryonic, creeping, crawling, standing and walking.
As a practice, the 5 Stages contributes to spinal health, realigning and restructuring the whole body – giving you physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and energetic balance.
A Nia 5 Stages private class, workshop or one-on-one offering is designed to be a meditative somatic learning experience teaching you how to blend Your Body’s Way (your current state of fitness & alignment) with The Body’s Way (optimal state of health & function). Through personal exploration, you will learn to lovingly guide and make choices based on seeking pleasure, not pain.
